Since January (aka the longest month of the year) has now gone and February is almost over, we can start looking forward to Spring quickly followed by longer days and Summer!
A couple of weeks ago I felt really down, just extremely depressed. I was shocked as getting outside and walking my dog normally helps me but in this instance, I still felt very tearful, overwhelmed and depressed. Thankfully I've managed to get myself out of that mood but not before wondering who I could contact when I'm feeling depressed. I have friends I can call but it's not really fair for me to burden them when they're at work or during the night.
Please note, if you or someone else urgently needs help, please call 999 or go to A&E now.
Needless to say, if it happens again I want to try and be prepared and know that there is someone I can speak to. I have used the NHS website previously to refer myself for counselling and this has always been so helpful so that may be something I could consider again.
I have also found:
You can also speak to the Samaritans on 116 123 or use their online chat facility.
Mind also provide some useful links.
I'm also currently looking at Better Help and the type of therapies they can provide, and Self Space where you can easily book in with a therapist (virtual and in person).
There is a lot of help available out there. I think I just needed to look in the right places.
