Pain relief

I've put together a list of products that I find helpful for when I'm in a lot of pain.

I also take pain relief prescribed by my GP and Consultant.

Yuyu.jpg

A long shaped hot water bottle that you can wrap around your back/stomach, and the warmth will help to relieve your pain.

Reusable pads.jpg

These reusable pads wrap around your underwear and provide an extra layer of security.

Heated throw.jpg

This blanket is useful, not just when I'm on my period but for keeping me warm when I'm working from home.

Cura heat pain relief.jpg

Adhesive patches that you stick on to your clothing or underwear. They release heat to help with your pain. I find them really useful when I'm at work. They're also discreet.

Always Infinity.png

I find these sanitary towels more absorbent than normal towels. They are made from a special type of foam. I'm less worried about having a leakage accident when I use them.

Aroma season heat pad.png

I purchased this heating pad from Amazon after seeing a review for it on a TV programme. It really helps with the pain but I've found that the battery doesn't last very long.

Period pants.jpg

I have extremely heavy periods and always need to wear two pairs of pants for fear of leaking. Period pants help me feel more secure by providing extra support, especially at night.

Tens machine.jpg

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) emits mild electrical currents to relieve pain. This is done through adhesive electrodes that you attach to the areas where you're experiencing the most pain. In my case, I would attach them to my lower back. You can control how high you want the sensations depending on the pain. There are a lot of TENS machines on the market e.g. at Boots and Argos. I use the Elle babycare one (from Amazon) developed for women in labour.
