What are the different types of fibroid?
Submucosal
Grow from the muscular wall of the uterus into the uterine cavity.

Intramural
The most common type of fibroid.
Grow within the muscular wall of the uterus.

Subserosal
Develop on the outer wall of the uterus.
Can grow into the pelvis.
Can become very large.
​
Pedunculated
Grow on stalks or peduncle (thin stalk like tissue structure).
Can grow inside the uterus (submucosal) or on the outer wall (subserosal).
