Welcome to
The Women's Health Edit
This part of my journey is all about using my lived experience to help others, and learning more about women's health.
It’s because of my own menstrual health journey, and my mum and dad that I felt inspired to support others through their own journeys.
I’m not trying to replace your GP or Consultant. I’m here to support you using my own lived experience.
I hope I can support you wherever you are in your own journey.

My lived experience
-
I had heavy/severe periods from the age of 11.
-
I would bleed through clothing, had severe back and abdominal pain, along with vomiting. I thought this was all normal.
-
I was put on the pill by my GP to pause my periods.
-
Nearly 20 years later, I was ready to start a family and so I stopped taking the pill. I thought it would be easy but my periods returned with a vengeance.
-
I was eventually diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis and menorrhagia.
-
I ended up having 12 surgeries, including a myomectomy, laparoscopies, and finally a hysterectomy in 2024.
-
My husband and I went through 4 failed rounds of IVF (1 NHS round, and 3 rounds with a private clinic). We made the heartbreaking decision to end our fertility journey in 2024.
-
I ended up leaving my job in 2023 because my severe periods caused me to exceed the number of absences allowed in a 12 month period.
-
In 2025, I lost my lovely mum to Lewy body dementia after a horrific 5 year journey, and then my lovely dad to pancreatic cancer nearly 3 months later.
